How to Remove Hyperpigmentation in Chiangmai
How to Remove Hyperpigmentation in Chiangmai
Hyperpigmentation is the name that healthcare professionals give to patches of skin that become darker than surrounding areas of skin.
Types of hyperpigmentation include age spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Each of these has different cause and a range of treatments and products, including creams and cosmetic procedures. We discuss these below.
Q-switched laser to fight hyperpigmentation
To be used in the destruction of tattoo ink particles, the NG Yag laser must be a Q-switched laser, which will pulse photons at very high power for very short increments of time (billionths of seconds) sending some electromagnetic waves of 1064 nm wavelength.
These are efficiently absorbed by the particles of black ink from tattoos. In the case of other inks, such are yellow, orange, pink and red, a filter is affixed to the laser to further increase the energy of the laser beam to 532 nanometers. When it comes to green and yellow tattoo ink, this laser may not be the most effective option.
The Q-Switched ND YAG laser works by targeting specific pigment in the skin, which targets the damaged skin cells in the treatment area. When it comes to laser tattoo removal, the Q-Switched ND YAG laser targets ink pigment and breaks it up into smaller particles through powerful bursts of energy. The ink is then absorbed into the bloodstream and eventually expelled from the body.
The Q-Switched ND YAG laser utilizes two energy frequencies; 1064 nanometers, to target deeper skin layers, and 532 nanometers, to address hyperpigmentation and more superficial layers.
